Singapore

Chinatown is the place to go for a great shopping experience. Wander in the maze of small streets lined with shops, and slowly get lost. Don't worry, you can find the way out easily if you want to. Many people will be willing to help. But getting lost is half the fun.

During festivals, such as the Chinese New Year, the region is a treat as well. If you happen to be in Singapore during one of these festivals you can't afford to miss a visit to Chinatown at night.

Of course Chinatown also has many small restaurants. Walking past the doors you can have a look at the waxed ducks and pick the restaurant where they look best. We have to warn you; they look very tasty everywhere! Don't forget to visit the eclectic mix of mosques and temples while you're here'the serene Nagore Durgha Shrine, the elaborate Sri Mariamman Temple and the grand Thian Hock Keng Temple are just but a few.
